Boost Mindfulness Everyday

 

We hear a lot about mindfulness nowadays, but what exactly is it? Simply put, mindfulness is the basic ability to be present in the moment without giving into distracting thoughts. When we are drawn by outside thoughts, we are more likely to feel overwhelmed or overreact to things that are out of our current control. This leads to negative feelings like anxiety and depression.

 

Being mindful in the modern world isn’t easy. We are constantly bombarded with new information and distracted by our tendency to multitask. Boosting mindfulness requires commitment and constant work, but in doing so, you can lead a happier life.

While society sometimes glorifies those, who try to toughen out their physical discomfort, there is a real connection between pain and mental health struggles. Relieve your pain through methods like reflexology, exercise, and cold/hot therapies. Being mindful throughout the day makes you happier and less stressed. Boost your mindfulness by focusing on your breath when stressed, appreciating your abilities even when doing something you don’t like, and picking up a daily meditation practice that trains your brain to be in the moment.
